Why should I choose the VSAT network?

What can it provide that a traditional network cannot?

During the past few years the VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) networks went through substantial developments. Digital transmission and the increasing practical application of variable bandwidth transmissions have replaced the initial analogue technology. The state-of-the-art networks now offer even the QoS option (Quality of Service), enabling the adjustment of the priority and security levels of a service package through software. This allows the custom tailoring of each package to the preferences and purchasing power of the customer. This is a crucial aspect to counterbalance the recently observable signs of disenchantment on the market. Though in Hungary nowadays there is substantial free cable network capacity, they offer only rather inflexible options. For example, it takes about 2-3 months to install an ADSL Internet connection, whilst there is around 65-70% redundant network capacity in Budapest, located in currently impractical areas. The network extension decisions of the service providers are based upon their local interests and opportunities. It has led to the downfall of many worldwide successful Internet companies in Hungary. This was the case with many recent e-business ventures in Hungary, ending in failures in many instances. Currently the majority of the Internet companies offer their services through cable networks. Many of the rest not using these networks have gone bankrupt, regardless whether they were successfully operating outside of Hungary or they were solely domestic.
