"Many have anticipated a large boom in e-business during the past years. They hoped a new, ever fastest growing and highly profitable industry was evolving.
Adhering to this view, the domestic news agencies transmitted only the positive aspects about e-business from the international media. The intensity of this bias is best illustrated by the 1999 prognosis of Gartner Group about the future of e-business - during 2000-2001 it will reach its bottom and will recover earliest by 2004 - which, to the best of our knowledge, was not published in any domestic media.
Numerous corporations were disappointed. Undoubtedly, due to the unrealistic expectations of a few companies - especially the equipment suppliers - the over-inflated bubbles burst. The hopes of many IT corporations about the "Y2K" issue in 2000 also failed."
